Substandard goods: City govt, health dept raid markets

Operation was initiated on complaints about the quality of gram flour, edible oil and fruits and vegetables.

LAHORE: The City District Government of Lahore and the Health Department on Saturday launched a campaign to check the sale of adulterated and unhygienic food items in the city. A CDGL spokesman said raids would be carried out in all markets in the city, including Sunday Bazaars. He said the operation was initiated on complaints about the quality of gram flour, edible oil and fruits and vegetables available in the markets.
