Last we heard, actor Saif Ali Khan’s mother Sharmila Tagore and sister Soha Ali Khan had confirmed an October 16 date for his wedding to Kareena Kapoor. However, some sources reveal that the actor is insisting that no date has been confirmed yet.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Saif discloses, “I haven’t fixed a date for my wedding! I’m yet to meet Kareena’s parents to sort out the date. It’s going to be a year-end wedding. As for excitement, we have been together [for a while], so what’s new? I’m 41, not an 18-year-old!”
His lukewarm reaction to his marriage leaves room for speculation: is there more to the story than meets the eye? Could Saif’s indifferent behaviour be an act to save Kareena from Bollywood’s married-actress jinx that has made many leading ladies lose their career after they got hitched (like Aishwarya and Kajol)?
“Honestly, I don’t want to make a big deal about my shaadi. I want a very small affair. I feel we’ll quietly get married and announce it later. Otherwise, it’ll get unmanageable in many ways. It will end up being no fun, and cause more offences. Who do you invite and who do you leave out? It’s crazy. The venue is also not finalised. Maybe we’ll have something in Mumbai and the rest will be follow in my hometown Pataudi,” the Hindustan Times, quoted.
Shahid Kapoor at Saifeena’s wedding?
On a separate note, he grapevine is buzzing with news that Kareena is interested in inviting her old flame Shahid Kapoor to the wedding reception. Interestingly, her hubby-to-be (or at least we hope!) seems to be onboard with the idea – if only he could agree to a finalised date as well.

So What? Many of my Hindu friends marrying muslim girls and live happily.
For Pakistani Brothers,It was more common in india that a Hindu boy marry a Muslim Girl than Muslim boy marry a Hindu girl.
Indian muslims are not extermist as indian media project them,Many muslim parents has no objection if there Boy/Girl wants to marry a muslim.
Shahrukh Khan has married a Hindu, Salman Khan's family is an example of so many multi religion weddings, and these guys and their spouses are well accepted not only in the sub continent but also in whole of the world.
So why this kolavari di
It has nothing to do with religion but should Kareena be marrying the much-married Chote Nawab? He has a history of quickly losing interest in a woman once she becomes his wife.
@maestro plz get yr facts right. a muslim man can only marry a christain or jew and THEN she doesnt hav to convert. in all other cases she DOES need to convert.
@rikky(India): Some of the Indians here act secular, but are in fact pretty bigoted when secularism is not in their favor. And I say this as an Indian.
Most Muslims in the film are not pretty religious, and almost all marriages have not involved conversion in past decade or so. And that is not just true of the film industry, a large number of Hindu-Muslim weddings do not have any conversion in modern urban India.
Not to say such opposition is there only in Hindu circles. A brahmin female friend of mine was marrying a Muslim, and while her parents endorsed the court marriage, it was his parents which pretty much disowned him because she did not convert. Though it's funny that both of them are not religious, and it was a non-issue to them.
@Saeed
Well said my friend.

You are 'SICK'. See a doctor.
There is a new song 2nd hand jawani...i think its quite apt here (both parties involved)
Is Said Ali Khan Pakistani? How is it Indo Pak wedding
Hope he sets a good example. Indo/Pak marriages are becoming too frivolous for this age. They are not even romantic.

U have sick mind.....If farakh Khan can marry with a HINDU why not Saif can marry a Kareena
@rikky(India): LOL your comment says it all for those proudly proclaiming India to be "secular"! A muslim marries a hindu and you know what hits the fan! Mind you, he's not even asking her to convert to Islam and wants her to remain Hindu - and you most prob don't know that when a muslim man marries a non-muslim, SHE doesnt have to convert to Islam! When a muslim woman marries a non-muslim man, HE has to convert to Islam! hahaha. Glad to see the real secular, "educated" mindset of the Indian population.
India slowly becoming Islamic, we need to vote out congress before Hindus becomes minority in its own nation.Hindu should join hand together to save our Hinduism and India before its too late.
