ABBOTABAD: Scores of villagers staged a protest over water shortage in front of the office of District Coordination Officer (DCO) Abbottabad on Tuesday. They blocked the link road for about half and hour and chanted slogans against the district administration and the officials of the Public Health Engineering Department. The protesters said that the water supply to over seven villages of Kothwal union had been suspended for more than fortnight. As a result, over 30,000 villagers were facing difficulties in running routine affairs. They warned that it the water supply was not restored within the next 24 hours, they will uproot the water supply lines. However, the department officials assured the protesters of restoring the water supply to their areas.
