Sectarian murders: Execution of prisoners postponed

KARACHI: The execution of two men – Attaullah alias Qasim and Mohammad Azam alias Sharif – was postponed on Monday. The men were sentenced to death by the Anti-Terrorism Court-V in connection with a sectarian killing committed in 2001. The men are currently facing trial in other cases as well, including a 2002 alleged sectarian killing in Defence Housing Authority. That case is being heard by the Anti-Terrorism Court-III inside Central Jail. The two men are accused in the 2002 case with Akram Lahori, a noted member of the banned militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.
