MARDAN: Dozens of members of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Saturday announced their resignation from the party and organised their own group named Jamaat-e-Islami (Dasturi). Maulana Abdul Haq, Maulana Qari Mohammad Saleh and other members and office bearers of JI Dasturi said that 27 members of Jamaat along with their friends and families have left JI because the leadership was not following the party constitution and was not willing to conduct inquiry against members involved in corruption and also arrange new election for Mardan district. The JI Dasturi said it will soon call a convention on district level and will strengthen the group.
