Teen Choice Awards: It’s all about what the public wants

Kristen Stewart is the “it girl” of the Teen Choice Awards. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1 and Snow White and the Huntsman (both starring the 22-year-old actor) each earned seven nominations for this year’s Teen Choice Awards.

Stewart is nominated for Choice Movie Actor (female): Romance, while her real-life (and silver screen) boyfriend Robert Pattinson is up for Choice Movie Actor: Romance. The duo is also up for Choice Movie Liplock.

Other local nominees include Pittsfield’s Elizabeth Banks, who’s up for Choice Movie Scene Stealer: Female for her work in The Hunger Games, Chris Evans, who’s up for Choice Movie Scene Stealer: Male for The Avengers and Steve Carell for Choice Movie Hissy Fit for Crazy, Stupid, Love. The show’s first presenters, announced on Thursday, include Kristen Bell, Jason Derulo, Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale, Dax Shephard and Jordin Sparks. The awards show airs July 22 on Fox, reports bostonglobe.com.
