Kahuta bus accident: Rs 10.4m disbursed among victims
DCO along with the elective representatives of the area disbursed the cheques.

The Distict Coordination Officer (DCO) Chakwal Ahmed Azia Tarrar disbursed Rs10.4 million among the victims of the Kahuta bus accident at a ceremony here on Sunday. As many as 25 persons had died in the accident whereas more than 62 sustained multiple injuries. The DCO along with the elective representatives of the area disbursed the cheques.
The DCO said that this small financial amount could not compensate for the valuable lives lost in the accident, however the Punjab government was trying to console with the affected families.

The Punjab Chief Minister Mian Nawas Sharif announced financial assistance on the request of MPA Malik Tanveer Aslam, MPA Begum Iffat Liaquat and president PML (N) district Chakwal Ch. Liaquat Ali Khan. The chief minister announced Rs300,000 for the deceased, Rs75,000 for seriously injured persons and Rs50,000 for injured persons.
