ATTOCK:

The body of a toddler was recovered from Jand police station on Thursday.

The police said that five-year-old Sidra Qayyum, daughter of Abdul Qayyum, resident of Moh Usmania Jand went missing after going out to play on May 18.

When the parents were unable to locate her, they lodged a missing person complaint at the Jand police station.

Their relative, Masood helped with the investigation process but later confessed to kidnapping her with the intentions of demanding ransom. But, he told the police, he panicked and hit her in the head with rock, leaving her unconscious. He then used a rope to strangulate her. He put the body in a carton and buried it.

The body was shifted to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Jand for an autopsy. The report said that Sidra died of suffocation. The police arrested Masood and registered a murder case against him.

"he panicked and hit her in the head with rock, leaving her unconscious" Yeah. Understandable. It's perfectly normal to panic and in response, smash a toddler's skull with a rock.
