Meera’s ‘abortion’: May 22 fixed for arguments

Petitioner, Muhammad Islam, contended that he read about Meera’s abortion in a newspaper.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday fixed May 22 to hear arguments on a petition seeking registration of case against actress Meera, her ex fiancé Capt Naveed and three doctors for helping her get an illegal abortion as Additional District and Sessions Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Khan Marth was on leave. Petitioner, Muhammad Islam, contended that he read about Meera’s abortion in a newspaper.

He said Meera, her ex fiancé and Dr Shahida Khwaja, Dr Waseem and Dr Nasreen of National Hospital in Defence, should be punished. He said he visited the Defence-B police station, but the SHO refused to register a case.
