Drug trafficking: Sleeping driver alerts police to drugs

Police searched the container and recovered 6,000kg of charas worth Rs90.5 million and 15kg of heroin.

BAHAWALPUR: Police arrested a truck driver and his assistant for drug trafficking on Sunday after the truck hit a tree near Head Panjnad on the National Highway because the driver was sleeping. The truck was travelling from Peshawar to Karachi. Sources revealed that police had searched the container and recovered 6,000kg of charas worth Rs90.5 million and 15kg of heroin. However, Panjnad Saddar SHO Rehanur Rasool denied heroin was recovered.
