Transitions: Dr Abdul Ghaffar Jatoi passes away

His burial will take place in New Jatoi village, Nawabshah.

KARACHI: Abdul Ghaffar Jatoi, one of the first cardiac surgeons of Pakistan, passed away suddenly of a heart attack while on holiday in London on Tuesday. He was 75. Dr Jatoi was the brother of veteran politician and former prime minister Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi. Dr Jatoi was better known as the founder of Mideast Hospital in Clifton, which he built in the 1960s. He is survived by his Irish wife Gertrude, sons Farhad and Faisal and daughters Sasha and Natasha. His burial will take place in New Jatoi village, Nawabshah.
