LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday summoned the Deputy Director of Anti Corruption on Tuesday for May 9 (today) on a petition filed by a Sikh man seeking the registration of a case against the chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property board (ETPB) and its former secretary who he said were involved in selling the land of Bibi Nanki Gurdwara.

Petitioner Ghulab Singh Shaheen submitted that he was the sewadar at Bibi Nanki Gurdwara.

He said a few weeks ago he had found out that ETPB chairman Syed Asif Hashmi and Saleem Masih, a former secretary now posted at Nankana Sahib, had misappropriated Gurdwara land.

He said he had filed an application with the FIA Punjab director and requested him to initiate criminal proceedings against the men.

He said the FIA had delayed the matter and had now flatly refused to register a case. He prayed the court to direct the FIA director to register a case against the two men.

The court summoned the Anti Corruption deputy director on Wednesday (today) and asked for a detailed report.
