Football: Milan teams fined for chants

ROME: Inter Milan and AC Milan were fined yesterday for insulting chants and banners at Sunday’s derby at the San Siro. Inter were hit with a €20,000 fine for banners that were insulting towards the opposition and their fans as well as for allegedly racially abusing a Milan player. Ghanaian Sulley Mutari, who is on loan from Inter to Milan and is widely regarded as having been a flop for the Nerazzaurri, was jeered throughout the match but the Italian sporting justice authorities decided that some of that contained expressions of racial discrimination. Milan were fined €10,000 for banners hung up by their fans, also considered to be insulting towards Inter.
