Tragedy: Three of a family perish in roof collapse

It was a small mud house in bad shape and there was only one room.

PESHAWAR:


A woman and two minor girls were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in the outskirts of Peshawar on Friday evening.


The incident occurred in the Naway Kalay area, where the roof of Niaz Muhammad’s house caved in.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, Niaz, his wife Akhtar Zari, 38, their eight-year-old daughter Noorul Iman and three-year-old niece Tehzeela were buried under debris.

Rescue workers shifted the victims to Khyber Teaching Hospital, where Zari and her daughters died of their injuries.

The officials said two others were also injured in the incident; however they were given first aid and are out of danger.

“It was a small mud house in bad shape and there was only one room,” they added.
