World Evangelical Alliance condemns Quran burning in Florida
In a press release issued by WEA, secretary general of the alliance, Dr Goeff Tunnicliffe, said that the burning of a “sacred text is wrong and unwanted” and added that the act does not reflect the biblical values.
“We appeal to Islamic leaders worldwide to understand that this self-proclaimed antagonist does not represent Christians. Indeed he violates the call of Jesus to love people everywhere. Such violence does harm to us all,” Tunnicliffe was quoted as saying.
The burning, attended by 20 people and streamed live over the Internet, was carried out by pastor Terry Jones’ church in Gainesville, Florida last month, and video of the burning was uploaded to YouTube by the pastor’s supporting group “Stand Up America Now.”
In March 2011, the US pastor Wayne Sapp under the supervision of Terry Jones burned a copy of the Holy Quran and broadcast the ceremony on the Internet, with the images inciting violence in northern Afghanistan, in which at least 12 people were killed.

Only a mentally retarded person can act like that..... What exactly he wants to convey? Infact this'll only spread hatred .... Even World Evangelical Association(WEA) has condemned it... America should act wisely and put him into mental asylem, so that no further damage (sentiment wise) is done and US avoids any kind of embarresment around the globe.
Actually when some miss guided peoples politicized any religion and want to get a cheap political millage then they use religion to get their benefits. But when you follow the golden principles like " Do Respect, Have respect " then no fundamentalism or terrorism arises. Mutual respect and freedom of thought and belief is the key for peace. Preaching and discussion is only way to share thoughts.

Terry jones is a looser..what did he accomplish by doing this..he doesn't get that he can't harm Islam like this..no1 can..sure u can burn a COPY of the Quran..but I don't see how it will effect anybodys faith..but I m sure this will only make our faith stronger just like it has In the previous occasions..

The only thing that unites religious extremists around the world is hatred and bigotry.Theists have been persecuting atheists for millenia. Religious apologists make all sorts of lame excuses and justifications of the horrors that religion brings.
Religious people spread hate and bigotry against those who don't follow their ideology.Religious people treat horribly atheists,agnostics around the world. The followers of some religions don't indulge in violence and restrict their hate only to words but the followers of other religions carry out terrorist attacks and mas murders. And the hate is not limited to being against people of other religions,but the religious fanatics spread homophobia,misogyny and hatred towards atheists. The rejection and persecution of the 'others' is a characteristic of most religious people.
