LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday sought a reply from the Punjab government on a writ petition against alleged theft of organs at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. The court allowed petitioner’s counsel to place on record documentary evidence in support of the allegations. The counsel said that a mafia was involved in manufacturing and supplying spurious medicines to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. He said the mafia was trying to hamper a fair investigation of the medicines scandal. After hearing initial arguments, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood issued a notice to the government for May 7.
