LAHORE:

An application has been filed in the Lahore High Court seeking action against the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) for strikes in city hospitals.

The petitioner, Advocate Azhar Siddique, moved a civil miscellaneous application in a petition pending against the YDA for strikes called previously. The petitioner said the Supreme Court on February 17, 2012 had barred the doctors from strikes but they had violated that order.

The petitioner said dozens of people had died during the previous strikes. The petitioner prayed the court to take strict action against the doctors involved and cancel their licences.
