Reference: Social activist remembered

A memorial reference for Sustainable Development Police Institute (SDPI) former MIS Coordinator Nasir Khan at was held at the SDPI here on Monday, according to a statement released by the organisation.


Ziaur Rehman moderated the proceedings and shared a detailed personal and professional account of Khan who died due to cardiac arrest on March 4.  He worked for SDPI for over 14 years managing its MIS, publications, web and other institutional services.

SDPI Executive Director Dr Abid Qayum Suleri said Khan was an extremely loyal person and was equally curious about the welfare of his colleagues. “I extend his family my personal and organisational support,” he said. Former ambassador Shafqat Kakakhel termed Khan’s struggle admirable. “He never ignored his duties and responsibilities,” he said.

SDPI Senior Advisor for Capacity Building Brig Muhammad Yasin said he knew Khan for the duration of his time in the organisation. “He has left a vacuum which cannot be filled by any person,” he said.
