The Fall: Seductress leads Mardan man in arms of kidnappers

PESHAWAR: A ‘kidnapping for ransom’ case appeared before the Peshawar High Court on Monday when a boy, invited by a girl to a dating spot in Mardan, was abducted by her alleged associates.

Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan could not help smiling as he asked the hapless boy: “Will you call any girl again?”

Complainant Qaiser Ahmad, a Qingqi driver, received a call from 19-year-old Razia on February 3 asking him to meet her at Khwaja Town on the Mardan By-Pass Road. But unlike the pleasant evening Qaiser had expected, four men, suspected to be Razia’s accomplices, kidnapped him and demanded his father Umer Ahmad to pay Rs0.5 million for his release.

Later, at Qaiser’s pointation, police arrested all five accused. The bail plea of one of the kidnappers, Dil Araam, was also approved by the court on Qaiser’s statement.

“Complainant Qaiser Ahmad appeared before the court and stated that he has reached a genuine compromise with accused Dil Araam, charged as a suspect, and would not opposed his bail request,” the chief justice said.
