LAHORE:

Hundreds of patients at Mayo Hospital couldn’t get their laboratory results on Friday because the King Edward Medical University’s (KEMU) Pathology Lab remained closed.

All tests in Mayo Hospital, Lady Willingdon Hospital and Lady Aitchison Hospital are conducted at the lab.

“I have come from Gujrat and my wife is under treatment at Lady Aitchison Hospital. The lab won’t reopen till Monday which means I will have to get the tests done from a private lab,” said Muhammad Idrees.

“The lab is closed because the officials availed compensatory leaves. Pathology Department officials came in on March 23 for the rehearsal of the laptop distribution ceremony and stayed at the university after hours on the day the ceremony took place,” Dr Muhammad Munir, the Pathology Department head, told The Express Tribune.
