‘Fair Practices’: Ombudspersons get training

ISLAMABAD: A two-day workshop on “Fair Practices” saw the ombudspersons from ten Pakistani organisations come together for a session to learn new ways from a Canadian expert. The workshop, organised by the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsmen with the support of the Canadian International Development Agency, saw ombudspersons from Lahore, Peshawar and Islamabad come together. Kevin Fenwick from Saskatchewan in Canada had flown in for the workshop. Fenwick said that this was a good opportunity for everyone to get together and network while learning newer practices at the same time. He said that there was not much difference in how work is done in Pakistan and Canada.  However, it was a good learning experience for both the parties. “We have so much in common and this I have come to know by coming here myself,” said Fenwick.
