ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Saturday that those who have disgraced the judiciary in the past should not give lessons of respect to others.

The premier was responding to statements by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief regarding the government’s “wrong intentions” towards the judiciary’s decisions.

“Everybody knows how Mian Sahib has respected the judiciary in the past; so he should not tell us the way to respect institutions,” the prime minister said, while talking to reporters after attending a wedding in Rawalpindi.

The prime minister further said that whereas he was expecting felicitations from Nawaz Sharif for the government’s successful completion of four years, he, instead, came up with a harsh statement.

While calling the statements ‘unfortunate’, Prime Minister Gilani further said that Nawaz should keep in mind that every government needs allies.

The prime minister said that the reason for Nawaz’s bitterness is that he became the prime minister twice and yet his government was unable to complete five years.

NS had no respect for the SC and Chief Justice Shah, when his party attacked the SC while in session, why? Now NS has all the respect for the judges and Choudhry Iftikhar, why? What kind of principles does Sharif have no respect for the independent judges and all the respect for PCO judges!
