Football: WAPDA secure third position

KARACHI: Wapda claimed third position at the National Football Challenge Cup after overcoming Navy 4-1 on penalties at the KPT Football Stadium. The stipulated time was not enough to decide the winner as the match was locked 2-2 after the final whistle with Zulfiqar Shah and Mohammad Afzal scoring for the eventual winners. Sajjad Ahmed and Mohammad Ramzan hit goals for Navy. However, Wapda came as the far most superior side in the penalties as they scored four goals, while Navy could just convert one of their five chances. Meanwhile, the final of the tournament between KRL and KESC will be played today.
