Brohi’s son was kidnapped nearly two and a half months ago from the Allah Bux Brohi village and is still missing.
The police claim that received information about a boy being kept hostage in a house Shikarpur. They raided Abdul Rasheed Buriro’s house, which was located within the jurisdiction of the Naparkot police, and rescued a boy. They said that they called Brohi immediately after but he refused to identify the boy as his own. The police was left with no choice but to return the child to Buriro.
Brohi said his son was abducted on December 18, 2011. He has three other sons and Rizwan was the youngest.
Figuring out the case
The Jacobabad police arrested a woman identified as Tehmina Bibi for kidnapping for ransom. They claim that she used to walk into houses at random and tell housewives with promises of gold. She used to take the children away while the mothers were distracted with the idea of more jewelry. Initial investigation suggests that Tehmina was part of a kidnapping gang which kept children hostage in Balochistan. She claimed that the DSP of the Thul police station, Noor Mohammad Suhriyani, was involved in the kidnappings.
While talking to The Express Tribune, SSP Jacobabad Zafarullah Dharejo said that they had raided Buriro’s house because Tehmina had confessed to kidnapping Rizwan and handing him over to Buriro. He said that an investigation was under way to figure out who the child was and what happened to Rizwan.
While responding to a question about the allegations made against DSP Suhriyani, the SSP said that this was not so. He added that an ASI was involved in the case and was under investigation.
