‘Noble’ profession: Marri talks about ethics of journalism

KARACHI: “Journalism is a sacred profession and all journalists must adhere to the norms of professional ethics,” said the information minister, Shazia Marri, while distributing certificates distribution ceremony of a workshop organised by Women Media Centre (WMC). “It is incumbent upon each and every journalist to present the truth to the people.”The workshop was titled “Responsible Media against Extremism Marri regretted that some journalists breached the privacy of people and meddled directly in their lives. However, she said that the entire community cannot be blamed for the wrongs of a few. Marri said that the role that the media played against the dictators and its struggle for freedom of expression in the country were very important.
