LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Chief Justice will set up a bench to hear a petition which calls for details of assets accumulated by leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), in Pakistan, and especially abroad to be made public.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial of Lahore High Court on Thursday referred to Chief Justice a petition seeking details of the assets of PML-N leadership including Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Chaudhary Nisar and Ishaq Dar, to be fixed before some appropriate bench.

During the hearing on Thursday, petitioner Barrister Iqbal Jaffery raised the objection that his case should be fixed before some other bench.

The petitioner stated that these four leaders had most of their assets abroad. He alleged that they managed to acquire these properties through unfair means, details of which should be made public.

He also alleged that these PML-N leaders had hidden their assets from the election commission so that they should be disqualified under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
