FAISALABAD/SIALKOT:

Dozens of people visiting the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) offices for Computerized National Identity Cards have complained about the inconvenience they have been facing for several days due to a boycott of work announced by NADRA employees.

The boycott continued on the fifth day on Saturday.

NADRA employees in the province have announced a protest strike against delay in regularistaion of their services. On Friday, a number of employees locked their offices and staged a demonstration in front of the head office on Liaqat Road. Traffic on the road remained suspended for several hours due to the blockade.

They alleged that junior officers were obstructing the passage of a notification for regularisation of their services. They said the government had announced regularisation of all contract employees. The protesters threatened that the scale of the protest would be increased if any measure was taken against officials participating in the protest.
