LAHORE: The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Inspector General of Punjab Police (IGP) to recover and produce before the court, on March 1, a Christian girl from Arifwala kidnapped a year ago. It also cancelled the bail granted to the nominated accused. The two-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, was hearing a petition filed by George Masih, a maternal uncle of the kidnapped girl, that seeks the cancellation of bail of the accused and recovery of his niece. The petitioner contended that Waris Masih had abducted his niece and alleged that the police had taken no action to recover her. He prayed the court to cancel the bail granted to the accused and direct the police to recover the abducted girl.
