Islamic finance is becoming increasingly prominent throughout the world, rapidly growing from a niche industry to a mainstay of finance.

Acknowledging this rapid growth, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) launched its advanced diploma in Islamic finance at a local hotel on Monday.

Speakers said the programme has been designed with input from the world’s best professionals.

“Islamic finance plays a vital role in the modern business world and it is important to have globally recognised professionals,” said a speaker.

In addition to that, speakers highlighted the potential which South Asia offers. They said Pakistan, Bangladesh and India alone amount to nearly 500 million Muslims and South Asia can become a region which offers tremendous potential to investors.

State Bank of Pakistan Chief Manager Akhtar Raza, appreciated CIMA’s efforts in enhancing specialised knowledge in Pakistan.
