Prison Matters: PSO caught harassing women staff

Sources said female staff of the central jail Peshawar had charged PSO Muhammad Arif with harassment.

PESHAWAR: Home and tribal affairs department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has ordered the suspension of the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) for the Inspector General (IG) prisons after it was proven that he had been harassing female jail staffers and intervening in official matters here on Thursday, sources said. Sources said female staff of the central jail Peshawar had sent a letter to the home secretary and had charged PSO Muhammad Arif with harassment. Home Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan took notice of the letter and issued suspension orders of Arif following the allegations.

The suspension order is not enough, he should be charged and the given 10 years prison sentence - someone need to pick up this issue with the government otherwise we will do that.
