More than 1,000 participants from all over Pakistan are participating in the Roots National Olympiad 2012 that started at the Roots College International in I-9/3 on Friday.
The four-day event will feature 20 competitions, said a press release issued by Roots.
These competitions are a way of offering an opportunity to interact with the peers in a fun-filled, competitive environment; from the artist to the chess whiz, from the actor to the geek, from the musician to the orator, the Olympiad 2012 has something for everyone, said the school statement.
Some of the events include battle of the bands, chess, click flick, mind quest, khaoo, debates, creative writing competitions and much more. RSS Executive Director Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq said, “This event [will help] illuminate the thinking of students.” Argentinean ambassador Rodolfo J Martin, the chief guest, said these young students have the ability to reach out beyond the curriculum, beyond the classroom, beyond the faculty.
