Poetry recital: ‘Writers and literature - The agents of change’

Literature and the writing community can assist in harmonising the country.

Literature and the writing community can assist in harmonising the country. With their work, writers and poets can promote the message of peace. This was said by eminent Punjabi poet Talib Hussain Talib while presiding over a Punjabi Mushaira on Monday, according to a press release issued by the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL). 


Rai Muhammad Khan Nasir, Nankana Sahib, Ghulam Rasool Azhar, Aqib Satianvi, Jafar Anjum Jatiana, Amjad Haral and Akhtar Raza Saleemi recited their poetry at the event where Naseer Khan Baloch and Hayat Bhatti served as chief guests.

Talib congratulated the Punjabi Adabi Parchar office bearers for organising such a successful event which was attended by over 300 participants that included poets, writers and other dignitaries. Punjabi Adabi Parchar President Jafar Anjum emphasised the importance of such events to promote the message of love, peace and humanity through literature. The event concluded with the promise of a continued support for literature.
