police escort could have caused mass panic and hysteria in the general ward.

ISLAMABAD: An inquiry into an armed assault at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Saturday that left two women dead will conclude on Wednesday (today). This was said by Pims Executive Director Mehmood Jamal as he responded to criticisms raised on the way the hospital handled the situation. Jamal explained the prisoner’s admittance to VIP ward by contending that his police escort could have caused mass panic and hysteria in the general ward. He said that every individual brought to the hospital must be treated and the administration is bound to provide healthcare facilities to everyone despite their profession or past. Earlier, in a statement, YDA Pims Chapter President Dr Asfandyar Khan stated that the shooting proves that the hospital administration is incapable of providing competent security to its staff and patients.
