President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Muzammal Sultan said that Arfa Karim Randhawa was a national asset for Pakistan. “The government should change the name of Ramdewali as Arfa Abad in recognition of her genius and her talent,” he said.
In a condolence message, the FCCI Chief said that children like Arfa were not born daily. “She had god-given talent and an extraordinary mind. To have such command over computer sciences at such a young age and to be recognised by Microsoft is an international achievement,” he added. “I only wish that she could have enjoyed the fruits of her success but the entire country mourns her today,” he said. “She did some amazing things for the betterment of this nation at such a young age that most people do not manage in a lifetime,” he said. Sultan called for the government to change the name of Arfa’s local village from Ramdewali to Arfa Abad to commemorate her achievements.

@Afzal Bashir Bajwa: Why not. After all, the land that is now called Pakistan was known as India for several thousand years. The people who inhabited the great land called Bharat, were, and are justifiably proud of their origin in Indus Valley. Can you say the same for the people who inhabit it now? Does the present name of this land evoke visions of grandeur and scholarship as did the ancient civilization that inhabited this formerly magnificent place?
Not a good idea, that would be like removing a page from Indian history book. We can pay tribute to Arfa by naming Ramdewali's school after her name.
