The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) gas supply was partially suspended to Quetta, Kalat, Mastung, Pishin and adjacent districts on Tuesday noon.
Talking to The Express Tribune, General Manager SSGC Haroon Rashid said “A SSGC team was dispatched to the area for repair of the damaged pipeline. They will start repair work after receiving a security clearance of the area. It might take 24 hours to completely restore the gas supply,” adding that gas pressure has fallen in parts of Balochistan due to the incident that took place on Monday night.
According to official sources, unknown persons attached explosive material to the pipeline, which was blown up as result of the explosion.
The outlawed Baloch Republican Army reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
Earlier in January, unknown persons blew up a high pressure gas pipeline twice near Sui due to which gas supply to Balochistan remained suspended for six days.

People of Balochistan were facing difficulties due to the unavailability of Sui gas as temperatures dropped below the freezing point.
“The use of gas is doubled or tripled in winter in Balochistan, thus low gas pressure is obvious. SSGC made alternative arrangements thus gas supply to Quetta and other districts were not completely suspended after a high pressure gas pipeline was blown up,” said Inyathullah Ismail, SSGC spokesperson.

@Ghaffar Baloch: Read the caption; It says that people of Baluchistan are sufferering by the bombings of these anti state criminals. The people of Pak are very sensitive to the needs of Baluchis over the last decade and clearly under this government but it is clear that these bombings are the work of agents who want to ensure that Baluchistan stays backward to please foreign governments trying to destablize Pak.
For those who don't know the facts: The entire 31 districts of Balochistan don't have Sui Gas except 4 or 5 districts including Quetta, Kalat & Mastung. Even Sui village where the gas had discovered in 1952 itself deprived of its own gas. The state itself devouring Baloch's minerals & resources. How Atrocious!
@BalochKhan Really? then maybe @Loyal to Pakistan is right, they need to dig deeper and remove and clues of where the lines can be found underground. But btw, from a quick image search on google, it doesn't look that all are underground.
Why don't you learn from USA. Iraqi oil flows to Israel without even raising an eyebrow. Go underground
Dear Amjad:
Time after time, the evidence points to the same old culprits, but it’s our failure to acknowledge the truth that results in conspiracy theories. We have to understand that turning our backs to the obvious will not bring stability to the region. These militants are on a mission to destabilize the region, and their list of crimes clearly depicts their dark and evil agenda. They regularly target women, children and government officials. The explosion of the gas line only begins to reflect their evil mentality, and their hatred for society. We fully support Pakistan in its fight against the militancy and strongly condemn all acts of terror. We wish to see Pakistan become the pinnacle of peace and stability in the region, as it directly affects our efforts across the border in Afghanistan. We realize that the recently relations between our nations have been full of obstacles and challenges. But we hope to work out all differences for the sake of achieving our common objectives in the region.
People of Balochistan are unaffected by gas pipeline blasts because they don't get the gas all the gas is supplied to other provinces.
Goes to show that these bombings are the work of anti state agents who are hurting Baluchistan to please their foreign masters. When they destroy the pipelines and create inconvenience and trouble for the people of Baluchistan, it shows that these are agents against Baluchistan's development and Pakistan overall. The nation needs to seal the border with Afghanistan which is used as a base for the criminals.
@Balochkhan: Not deep enough. Should be at 18 feet.
These pipelines are already buried
Design flaw - with the cheap labor we have, why not build these pipelines underground?
buried secrets behind exposed pipelines
This shows the inherent vulnerability of pipelines - suggest you bury the pipeline. Anyone think that a pipeline to Iran or elsewhere is going to be more secure than this one?
