India trail 2-0 in the four-match series, having lost the first Test in Melbourne by 122 runs and the second in Sydney by an innings and 68 runs.
Akram, who had predicted that India would lose the first two Tests, told the www.espnstar.com website he would not be surprised if Australia also win the remaining two matches in Perth and Adelaide.
“India are seriously looking out of sorts,” Akram was quoted as saying from Australia where he is working as a television commentator for the series.
“There seems to be no planning in the team. Players are just looking like individuals and not gelling as a unit.
“This is surprising considering the fact that almost the same team were world number one just a few months back.”
Akram said India played well at home, but faltered when they went abroad as was evident from the 4-0 rout in England last year and their current losses in Australia.
“Winning matters, but to win overseas is the real thing,” he said. “India does well in their backyard but are found wanting when they play on foreign pitches.”
Akram said India’s inability to match Australia's aggression on the field disappointed him.
“It was disheartening to see the fielders lose hope as the Aussie batsmen piled on the runs,” he said. “Such body language was very unlike Dhoni and his team.”
The third Test starts at the WACA ground in Perth, reputed to have the fastest wicket in Australia, on Friday.

@ johar's dad: spot on dude! @JOHAR: your dad's got a point here buddy :)
4-0 here it comes
My friend, Australia actually won the series against India when they toured your country in 2007! So the test teams that were actually dominant in world cricket (aussies in the 2000s and windies in the 70s), app kai aur apnay ghar donon main sher hotay thay. I cant imagine India being a sher outside of their backyard any time soon, at least with this bowing line up. Sorry.
I surely agree with Wasim Akram's views on India's present performance but what would be his comments on Australian team, if the same team loses to Indians with the same margin during the next series in India ? Apne apne ghar men sab sher hain which includes Australia, SA and England as well since all were beaten in India.
@Abbas: what are yous saying buddy??? I think your are also one who always see the dark side of mirror. do believe in yourself and hope for the better. who says this to you that we Pakistan cricket takes money from Asian cricket council to run there affairs. PCB has a lot of money in there account.. And for the record America has not paid a penny for last ten years, while using our roads and airspace for Afghanistan. Last year they gave only 300 million dollar. That's what you are talking about. India is our enemy and will remain.. Koi shak?????????
@m anees khan: But Pakistan does not have a cricket team at present if not supported by backdoor money by Asian cricket council. You know who rules world cricket. Just like you live on money thrown by US and still hate them..... (fill the rest yourself)
I have always supported two teams in my life. Pakistan and second; team hammering India.
Does he fear or he hopes.
I hope they are demolished by Aussies. And why not? After all they always look down at our team country and players. Our players are not allowed to participate in IPL (not that they want to any more ).
Good luck Aussies.
Pakistan not playing at home for years and still winning. The real test passed by Pakistan under all sorts of pressure. Indians coming from home comfort always give shameful performance even with stars having tons of runs in their record books.
Indians are lions at home turf and expose badly when play overseas
there was a comment from Indian media "Indian cricket team is like loyal husband who performs only at home"
@Wasim Akram I wish India loose 4-0. BCCI has been using our team as a machine for the past 5-6 years for churning out more money. No rest all play, the team isn't short of talent but the way they being handle will wear them out soon. I hope my fellow countrymen reading this article agrees to what Akram said and understand the fact that all play and no rest will eventually kill them.
