LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday, seeking recovery of two children and registration of police cases against the family members of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Malik Ahad.

Petitioner Irfan Mehmood has accused Ahad’s family members of helping Ambreen Hayat, Mehmood’s former wife and mother of the two children to be recovered, in alleged abduction of their kids.

Mehmood stated that he had sent their two sons, Laraib Irfan and Abdul Saboor Irfan, to Ahad’s house for a meeting with their mother Hayat, as per the directions of the guardian court.

However, according to Mehmood, his former wife abducted their sons and fled.

The guardian court had issued at least eight notices to Hayat as well as Ahad’s family members but they failed to comply with the orders. The court had also directed the police to take appropriate action but they too failed.

The petitioner requested the court to summon Punjab Inspector General of Police and Chief Secretary and ask for an explanation for this failure.

Mehmood prayed to the court to register a case against Ahad and his family members including his daughter Ayesha Ahad Malik.

Ayesha had earlier claimed that she is Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif’s wife.

Ayesha’s brother Yousaf Ahad Malik said that the petition is just an unfair tactic used by the PML-N to pressurise them.
