The security forces cordoned off the area and a curfew was imposed shortly after.
According to sources, after receiving a tip-off, the security forces reached the site to defuse the bomb planted on the Qafila Road of Boya village, but before they could defuse it, the bomb exploded.
One security person died on the spot while the other sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Having cordoned off the area, security forces started a search operation, sources said, adding that no one has been arrested so far.
The political administration authorities said that the curfew has been imposed for an indefinite period from Miranshah, Datta Khel to the Gharlami area from 6:30 am onwards. They added that the main road would remain blocked for traffic movement.
