LAHORE:

Compressed natural gas (CNG) suppliers are embarking on a major drive to examine commercial and public transport vehicles running on CNG from December 28 in 25 major cities of the country in an effort to prevent accidents which are occurring due to substandard and unlicensed CNG kits and cylinders.

Announcing this, All Pakistan CNG Association Central Chairman Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha told the media here on Saturday, “We are grieved over the loss of human life but CNG stations are not responsible for this. We have asked the government several times to check and stop illegal kit conversions and workshops but the departments concerned did not take any action.”
