Aisamul Haq ties the knot
Qureshi, decked out in a trendy white sherwani with a red jewel on his chest, signed off on the legal documents among family and friends before being joined by his wife on stage at the Garrison Club.
Akmal, a British citizen, wore a red dress with golden encrustations. She had recently acquired a masters degree in psychotherapy from the University of Greenwich, UK.
Akmal’s father, Dr Muhammad Akmal Makhdum is the son of renowned educationist of Pakistan, professor Muhammad Ajmal, former secretary education, principal of Government College Lahore and vice chancellor Punjab University.

@Zeeshan: and lets not forget that the sherwani is a local adaptation of the Western frock coat. so by definition everyone wearing a sherwani is a slave of the west etc etc. The levels of ignorance people like 'patriotic' will succumb to!!!!!

@Patriotic: i think sherwani is pretty much muslim dress. its hindus who adopted it
@Patriotic: You truly have no knowledge about the heritage of the country that you are so in love with. Sherwani is part of muslim culture and was a class symbol during muslim rule in india. It was only later hindus adopted it. You should see photographs of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other muslims from that time and even today a lot of people wear Sherwani at formal gathering.

Aisam is a great player and obviously a proud for Pakistan. I am proud of him. However, playing alongside with a hindu in recently has impressed him enough to wear a hindu dress in his wedding ceremony.
