Munir Paracha, a lawyer, appeared before the three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and apprised it that capital police is showing reluctance to take action against Peterson Oil and Gas Company “whose owner has illegally occupied 19 marla land in Bani Gala” belonging to his client Nafeesa Bibi.
Paracha informed the bench that the police registered an FIR against her client Nafeesa Bibi on the application of Aurangzeb, who is a manager in the oil company and has full backing of the owner. He contended that through different tactics, he has been pressurising and harassing his client to withdraw the case against Aurangzeb.
On the other hand, superintendent of capital police Sajid Kiyani presented an inquiry report before the bench which the CJP rejected, terming it one-sided and unsatisfactory.
“This was a very simple and minor case and you could not solve it…the court’s time is wasted just because of people like you,” said Justice Ramday reprimanding SP Kiyani.
“We gave direction to conduct independent inquiry into the matter…police do not perform their duties…the land of the lady has been occupied and the entire machinery is supporting the grabbers…we need real documents of the land till the evening otherwise get ready,” the CJP warned.
Paracha contended that the real culprit is the owner of the oil company whereas the manager, Aurangzeb, is a puppet in his hands who has occupied 19 marla land of her client, and instead of taking action the police are harassing her to withdraw the case.
The CJP while adjourning the case till August 6, directed inspector general Capital police to personally look into the matter and submit a report at the next date of the hearing.
