MUMBAI:

Actor Karisma Kapoor says being a mother is the best feeling in this world but at the same time she feels that no books or tips can prepare a woman for motherhood.

“I think it is a challenge everyday because you want to be a good mother, you want to be a good parent, you are learning everyday and it’s a new experience every day. It is the best thing in this world — being a mum is just the best thing ever,” says the 37-year-old.

Kapoor says that she wasn’t prepared for the intense feelings she experienced after giving birth. “Just like any mum, I had read a lot of books, then of course you ask your own mum and you get a lot of tips. But frankly, my opinion is that nothing can prepare you for motherhood.”

“You know, when you hold your baby in your arms, it is a totally different feeling. So, nothing can really prepare you for that,” added the actor who quit her then 12-year-old career after her marriage to Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapur in 2003. Kapoor has a daughter, Samaira who was born in 2005, and son Kiaan, born in 2010.

Karisma, the first Kapoor girl to step into showbiz, is making her comeback on the big screen with Vikram Bhatt’s Dangerous Ishq.

She has had an illustrious career and starred in 58 films. Some of her notable performances include Raja Babu, Andaz Apna Apna, Hero No.1, Biwi No.1, Fiza, Zubeidaa, Raja Hindustani, and Dil To Pagal Hai, for which she won the national award for the best supporting female actor.

Karishma! After a twelve year marriage and two kids, you still are gorgeous and vivacious.

I don't get it, why do you insist on calling someone as gorrrjus as Karisma an actor ? She's an actress and it sounds great as well. This nonsense has started only recently and someone should put it right.
