A student was allegedly sexually assaulted by three school boys at a seminary in the Sera-e-Saleh area on Monday. There was no immediate comment from the seminary authorities.
Tayyaba Akhtar*, the victim’s mother, lodged a complaint with the police that when her nine-year-old son Rayan* came home on Sunday for the holidays, he complained of a stomach-ache and said he had been sexually assaulted by some boys on December 2. He said Fahd*, a third grade student, Anas*, a fifth grade student and Talha*, a sixth grade student had attacked him. She stated that she had admitted Rayan to the seminary after her husband’s death a few years back.
Akhtar said she informed the seminary administration about the incident, but they did not take any action against the suspects. She then approached Haripur District Police Officer Muhammad Ali Gandapur, requesting him to take legal action against the suspects, who ordered the station house officer to register a criminal case.
According to sources, Rayan’s medical examination has been conducted and the police are waiting for the report. However, an official source denied the incident, claiming that the suspects were too young to sexually assault the boy. *Names have been changed to protect identity
