KARACHI: Former Sindh information minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, returned to Karachi on Thursday after taking a London-bound flight along with Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, incurring the ire of the Pakistan Peoples Party. He subsequently resigned. He told reporters at the airport that no one could dismiss their party membership as they were PPP workers. Memon thanked the governor for accepting his resignation and added that he would support the party’s policy. He refuted reports that the PPP leadership has disowned Dr Mirza. On another note, he commented on Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s decision to join the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf. “Some elements have deliberately made Imran Khan a ‘pawn’, because he cannot win even ten National Assembly seats,” he said.
