Islamabad police on Sunday held a flag march to demonstrate their preparedness for Muharram.
Fleets of police patrols carrying personnel of police and elite force commandos passed through different areas of the city. More than 100 vehicles of Islamabad Police and other wings along with a large number of motorcycles squads took part in the march.
A police spokesperson said the march included personnel of Islamabad police, anti-terrorist squad, patrolling squads of rescue 15 and contingents of police commandos, Rangers and Frontier Constabulary. The march was led by Superintendent of Police (Saddar) Sajid Kiani, while the other three SPs of the other three zones of the city and Sub-Divsional Police Officers also participated in the march.
More than 100 vehicles of Islamabad Police and other wings along with a large number of motorcycles squads took part in the march, which started from D-Chowk and culminated at Pakistan Sports Complex.
Malik briefed on security measures
Interior Minister Rehman Malik visited the control room of National Crises Management Cell (NCMC), which was established to monitor the law and order and security situation during Muharram at the Ministry of Interior. The NCMC director general briefed the minister about the law and order situation throughout the country.
