KARACHI: A prisoner identified as 45-year-old Manzoor Khan passed away at a hospital on Monday. He was admitted in the Jail Ward of Civil Hospital Karachi four days ago and no one knows how he died. Sources in the hospital claim that the prisoner’s postmortem reports had been sent for examination. Khan was arrested by the Aziz Bhatti police in a murder case in 2010 and was sent to the central jail. Jail officials said that the prisoner was quite sick when they took him to the hospital. Sub-inspector Mohammad Arif said that Khan was from Rahim Yar Khan and had high fever. He added that the prisoner also had some sort of skin disease. The police will register a case if some criminal involvement comes up in the postmortem report.
