The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a notorious human trafficker Aftab Ahmed.


Senior FIA officials told reporters that the suspect was wanted by the FIA in dozens of the cases for sending several people abroad illegally after extorting large sums from them with the help of his wife Naghma Sehar and partner Shafaqat Ali.

On Sunday afternoon, an FIA team raided Sehar and Ahmed’s office in Sialkot and arrested them. FIA officials said that Aftab Ahmed had extorted over Rs 40 million from local residents people by spinning tales of lucrative job opportunities waiting for them in Austria and England.

He allegedly extorted money from Abdul Karim Sial, and Usman Ali in Mubarakpura, Sialkot. “He said that his uncle could find me a job in Spain and that if I paid him Rs350,000 my entire family could move there permanently by the end of the month,” Sial said.

Other residents including Qamar Abbas of Gujraal, Adnan from Aadha,Sialkot; Edison resident of Christian Town, Sialkot; Ahmed of Jammu Road, Muhammad Afzal of Defence Road, Sialkot;  Tanveer Ahmed of Daska; and Adnan Ahmed of Mianapura, Sialkot city
said that they had all been duped by Ahmed.
