HONG KONG: Less than two weeks after losing to Nick Matthew in the World Open final in Rotterdam, Frenchman Gregory Gaultier earned his revenge by upsetting the world number one from England in the quarter-finals of the Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Open. Gaultier came out on top after a 90-minute marathon encounter, winning 7-11, 11-9, 13-11, 11-5. The world number five will now take on James Willstrop, the world number three from England, who progressed to the semi-finals after opponent Peter Barker was forced to withdraw with an injury early in the third game of their quarter-final clash. The other semi-final will be played between unseeded Malaysian Mohammad Azlan Iskandar and second-seed Karim Darwish from Egypt.
