Health Journalism: ‘Children of journalists to get training’

Dow University initiates short course in collaboration with the Association of Health Journalists of Pakistan.

KARACHI: Children of journalists will be given technical training on health by the Dow University at its vocational centre, while a second course in health journalism will start next month, announced Vice Chancellor Professor Masood Hameed Khan on Saturday. A certificate distribution ceremony for a short course for health journalists was held at the Arag Auditorium. The short course was initiated by the university in collaboration with the Association of Health Journalists of Pakistan. Professor Masood said that Dow is the country’s first university that introduced a health journalism course. Editor of Daily Express Tahir Najmi said that these were efforts of KUJ, PFUJ and KPC, adding that the Dow University practically done the job. These courses will help journalists to report easily with medical terms and will also help developing a healthy society.
