Solidarity and strength: Jammu Martyrs Day observed in Sialkot

SIALKOT: Jammu Martyrs Day was observed in Sialkot and Narowal by dozens of refugees from Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, who had settled in both districts.

A day-long programme started with special prayers for the solidarity, unity and prosperity of the country as well as for the early liberation of the occupied valley. Special prayers were offered and a Quran Khawani was also held for Jammu martyrs and earthquake victims at various locations in both districts.

“It is important that we show our solidarity because we have not forgotten the importance of this cause.

We need to keep fighting for the freedom of these people no matter where we are,” said a refugee Javed.

Political parties of Jammu and Kashmir arranged special meetings to pay tribute to martyrs and highlight the highhandedness of the Indian army in occupied Kashmir.

Addressing the meetings, various leaders and refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir settled in Sialkot and Narowal districts urged upon the United Nations to take immediate steps to stop the killing of innocent Kashmiris in the held valley. They said the silence of the global community especially the champions of human rights and peace over the killing of innocent Kashmiris indicated that they did not care about the genocide of Muslims by Indian occupation forces in the held valley.

In another meeting, prominent Kashmiri leaders of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Ejaz Ahmad Sheikh and Sheikh Muhammad Saleem, urged the Indian prime minister stop the killing innocent Kashmiris for restoring peace in the region.
